CCHS Decision Day 2017

On Tuesday, May 9, 2017, Clinton County High School honored 99 seniors in the first ever Decision Day at CCHS.  The event was designed to celebrate senior students who have committed to furthering their education by attending post-secondary schools.  Nine colleges and universities were represented at the event, including Campbellsville University, Eastern Kentucky University, Lindsey Wilson College, Tennessee College of Applied Technology (Livingston, TN), Murray State, Somerset Community College, Tennessee Technological University, University of Kentucky, and Western Kentucky University.  Recognition was also given to seniors who have chosen to enter the military and seniors who have received national certifications from the Clinton County Area Technology Center.  Those certifications include:  Microsoft Office Specialist, Automotive Service Excellence, American Welding Society, and the National Center for Construction Education and Research.

Hannah Albertson, Kentucky Career Coach, coordinated this event, along with the help of Clinton County Area Technology Center Principal Stesha Flowers.  Faculty members were also encouraged to wear their college colors to support the event.  Special guests at CCHS Decision Day 2017 included EKU Admissions Counselor Ashton Chaffins, Lindsey Wilson College Admissions Counselor McKenzie Martin, WKU Admissions Counselor Tyler Rife, as well as CCATC instructors Jerry Bell, Jesse Burchett, Holly Claborn, and Matt McWhorter.  Majors Pizza helped to provide an afternoon snack for the seniors after the ceremony. CCHS senior Reed Sloan was the winner in the drawing for a GooglePlay gift card.  The event coordinator Hannah Albertson had this to say about Decision Day.

“There was so much support from our community and I am very thankful for that. I want our community to encourage these students to be proud of their accomplishments thus far and be enthusiastic about the exciting journeys they are about to begin.”
