The #loveKYschools campaign is an effort of the Kentucky Educational Development Corporation (KEDC) in conjunction with the Northern Kentucky Educational Cooperative (NKCES), the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents (KASS), the Kentucky School Boards Association (KSBA), and the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA). At the January KEDC Board of Directors meeting, Secretary of Education Hal Heiner was very impressed with all of the positives that are going on within our Kentucky schools, and mentioned during his address that we should consider spotlighting these successes. Often the media will focus on the negative aspects of education, overshadowing all of the great things that we know are continuously transpiring within our school districts. It just so happened that this has been a long-standing goal between the Executive Director of the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents (KASS), Dr. Tom Shelton, and the Chief Executive Officer of KEDC, Nancy Hutchinson, and so the campaign #loveKYschools was formed!
The success stories submitted by districts across the state (including ours) will be featured on the #loveKYschools social media outlets, at their table during the Boys/Girls Sweet 16 Tournaments, as well as other events throughout the year. The mission of this campaign is to promote the success of public schools across the Commonwealth. To find out more information about the #loveKYschools campaign, visit their booth during these tournaments, or follow them on social media via their #loveKYschools Facebook page. Visit www.facebook.com/lovekyschools and ‘like’ their page so that you are able to view all of the successes in education that are happening around the great Commonwealth of Kentucky!
