The students at the Clinton County Early Childhood Center raised $1,216.32 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during their annual Pennies for Patients drive. This program is a service-learning project that gives students the unique experience of working together to help raise awareness and funds in honor of thousands of children and adults who are fighting against blood cancers. The class that raised the most money was Mrs. Lezlee Young's morning preschool class with $398.02. Mrs. Jamie Cooksey's morning preschool class was a close second place with $373.78. Both classes were rewarded with pizza parties. ECC would like to extend a special thanks to Monticello Bank and to Mr. Willard Johnson for allowing the use of equipment to count and sort the pennies.
