The Clinton County Middle School 6th Grade Academic Team competed in the Section 22 6th Grade Showcase held at Science Hill Elementary School on Saturday, December 3, 2016. There were six school districts represented in the competition. The team placed first in overall points standings, taking the championship trophy. The team also placed first in Quick Recall, ending the day undefeated. Several students placed in individual Written Assessment. Those students were as follows: Sami Criswell (4th in Arts and Humanities and 3rd in Mathematics), Ashton Daniels (5th in Language Arts and 6th in Composition), Evan Little (1st in Science and 1st in Arts and Humanities), Loren Little (1st in Language Arts and 1st in Composition), Sadie Moons (4th in Language Arts), and Emma Tompkins (1st in Science). It is also worth noting that Evan Little scored the 5th highest score in the entire state on Kentucky in the Arts and Humanities Written Assessment. The 6th Grade Showcase Team is coached by Mrs. Danielle Hicks. A special thanks to Dr. Paula Little and Mrs. Ashley Braswell-Shelton for serving as Clinton County's Quick Recall Officials during the competition, and to all the wonderfully supportive parents of these phenomenal students.
