Food Service Program Receives Fuel Up to Play 60 Funding

Clinton County Schools Food Service Director Paulette Brinley is pictured here with Alan Curtsinger of the Southeast United Dairy Association accepting a check in the amount of $8,900.00 from Fuel Up to Play 60. Fuel Up to Play 60 addresses real-world circumstances of resource-strapped schools by offering funding opportunities to help schools make strides in meeting wellness goals. The program was launched in 2009 by the National Dairy Council (NDC) and the National Football League (NFL), in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The funding will be used locally to purchase items to increase breakfast participation in the schools, including smoothie blenders, LED menu signs, and hot/cold bars.
