On Thursday, November 16th, AES and CCMS students in the Gifted & Talented Program participated in the History smArts Outreach Program. During the sessions, students analyzed images from the Kentucky Historical Society's collection and artifacts from their teaching collection. Students also participated in hands-on activities. First and second grade students made maps and constructed towns in their session on geography. Third and fourth grade students made clay pinch pots in their session on Native Americans. Fifth and sixth grade students created campaign buttons and posters, and wrote speeches in their session on government. Seventh and eighth grade students did quill writing of bill proposals in their session on citizenship.
