Missoula Week is Coming!

MCT Gulliver's Travels Logo

Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, has been touring extensively for 45 years now from Montana to Japan, and will visit more than 1,200 communities this year with teams of Tour Actors & Directors. A tour team arrives in a given town with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play...except the cast. The team holds an open audition on Monday afternoon and casts 50-60 local students to perform in the production. The show is rehearsed throughout the week and a public performance is presented on Friday night. All MCT shows are original adaptations of classic children’s stories and fairytales . . . a twist on the classic stories that you know and love.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) of Missoula, Montana will visit Clinton County for a week-long residency during the week of November 6—10, 2017.  It will be an out-of-this-world sci-fi adventure when Missoula Children's Theatre and more than 50 local students present an original musical adaptation of GULLIVER’S TRAVELS.

An audition will be held for Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) production of GULLIVER’S TRAVELS on Monday, November 6th from 3:30 to 5:30 PM.  Those auditioning should arrive at the Clinton County Learning Center auditorium at 3:30 PM and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.  Over 50 roles are available for local students.  Among the roles to be cast are:  Gulliver and his trusty computer JCN (Jason), the Giant King, Queen, and Princess of Brobdingnag (brab-ding-nag), a Giant Wasp, the Maniacal Scientist of Lapunta (la-poon-ta) and his Robots, Houyhnhnm (who-in-um) Horses, Yahoos, and Aliens of Liiliput, and Blefuscu (blue-foo-skoo).  Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.  All students in grades K—12 are encouraged to audition.  No advance preparation is necessary. Most students will rehearse four hours each day, Monday through Friday. The performance is scheduled for Friday, November 10th at 7:30 PM.   For more information about the Missoula Children’s Theatre residency week in Clinton County, contact Community Education Director Ammie Marcum at (606) 387—3495, Ext. 201.   Don’t miss your opportunity to be part of a full-scale musical with professionally designed scenery, costumes, props and makeup, as well as sound and lighting equipment!!!
