Y-Club Participates in the Lake Cumberland Pride Clean Up

As a new school year begins, the CCMS Y-Club gets an early lead on volunteering. On Saturday September 19th, 16 members of the club meet at Grider Hill Dock at 8:45 a.m.  They grabbed their gloves and trash bags and headed out to help clean up Lake Cumberland. They picked up trash for 3 hours around the lake. They competed for grant money to help fund the Y-Club. They came in 1st place in the small group category. They picked up 6 full bags of trash! Most of the things were the same, the strangest objects they found was an air mattress floating in some sticks and a pair of socks. Although they competed for grant money, the students learned that keeping the environment and safe is a very important thing!
