Many of us know what we would like to be when we grow up, but others have no idea. It is never too early to look around and see what jobs are available for us to choose from. In this quest you will take a short interest survey to find out the types of things that you do or do not like, you will then look through possible careers based on your results.
You will begin by visiting My Next Move and completing the Interest Profiler that you find there. When your results are shown on the screen, write them down on the Job Research recording sheet. You will then choose the level of training that you would like to receive, and finally you will look through careers that match your choices. When you have looked through the careers and found one that you like, you will fill out the rest of the Job Research recording sheet with the information about your career. You may also visit the Virginia Career View website to locate additional information.
After you have chosen your career and found out information about it, you will be creating a digital poster in Microsoft PowerPoint that displays what you have learned. Click here to open the PowerPoint template and begin creating your poster!
An example of the finished poster can be found here.
