Mr. Tim Armstrong was a graduate of the University of Kentucky in 1988 with a B.A. in Education, Major in Biology and Minor in Chemistry. He received his Master's Degree in Counseling and Rank I Certification in Counseling with an emphasis in Counseling Dysfunctional Families from Western Kentucky University. In 1999, he received Principal Certification in grades K-12. Mr. Armstrong began his career in 1988 teaching these classes at Clinton County High School: Biology, Applied Chemistry and Biology, Chemistry I and Chemistry II, Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology. After teaching for a seven years, he was hired as Director of 21st Century--a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. When the prinicipal position opened in 1999 at Albany Elementary School, he was hired. Currenly, Mr. Armstrong serves as Principal at Albany Elementary (this year completes 17 years of service). Mr. Armstrong serves as an American Red Cross Board Member for the Lake Cumberland Bluegrass Area. He is also a certified ARC Instructor who teaches his faculty and staff, district coaches, and other members of the community First Aid, CPR, AED for Infant Child and Adult. In addition, he is a Client Casework Supervisor and assist families when disaster strikes whether it be fire, flood or tornado immediately by giving them monetary spend down cards. Mr. Armstrong is also a local member of the Lion's Club International. He states that both the Red Cross and Lion Club support his endeavors as principal at AES.
