Superintendent's Message

Charlotte Bernard

Welcome to Clinton County School District!  Our vision statement (Expecting Excellence Every Day) is more than a catch phrase.  It is what we know to be true - a strong belief in each student’s potential.   Each day, I am inspired by the dedication of our teachers and staff members who set the stage for our students to excel in this school year and beyond.  It is my goal as superintendent to support our teachers in every way possible, as they challenge our students to become college and career ready.

I am truly motivated each day by what can be accomplished in a child’s life when a teacher or other staff member takes time to truly care and make a difference.  As superintendent, I am witness to the power of a simple effort to empower a student to know their potential and work hard to achieve their goals.  It is up to each and every one of us to believe in the potential that lives within each child.  Our schools serve not only to educate our students in the classroom, but also to enable, equip, and empower them.

Within the last year, Clinton County School District has achieved a great deal.  We are proud to have been recognized by the Kentucky Association for Career and Technical Education for achieving a top ten percent ranking among Kentucky’s public high schools for college and career readiness.  Additionally, we are proud the Kentucky Department of Education and Kentucky Board of Education have recognized us as a High-Progress District.  This means Clinton County is in the top ten percent of improvement among similar districts in the state.

We know the purpose of education extends far beyond the four walls of a classroom.   That’s why the mission of our district is to collaborate with the community to inspire lifelong learning and future success.  Working as a team, our administrators, teachers, staff, and community all consider our students’ best interest first when making every decision.  I also cannot underestimate the power of engaged parents and guardians in preparing our children for educational success.  It is their role as their children’s first and most important teacher that establishes the foundation for educational achievement.

As we enter the 2015 – 2016 academic year, I join Clinton County Schools’ teachers and staff in wishing each student a fulfilling, productive school year filled with knowledge and inspiration.

We ARE Bulldogs!
