Zach Delk, senior Carpentry student at Southern Kentucky Early College & Career Academy, recently earned the Carpentry Track Pre-Apprenticeship Certification. Zach began his journey by enrolling in the Carpentry Career Pathway as a 9th Grader. As a graduating senior, he has successfully fulfilled all requirements for the TRACK Pre-Apprenticeship Certification including: sequence of 4 Construction Carpentry courses, OSHA 10 Certification, completion of 8 OSHA Safety Modules, & passage of the Carpentry Pre-Apprenticeship Assessment. Zach will receive a pre-apprenticeship industry certification and be highly favored for an interview with partnering organizations Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters and Messer Construction. Upon acceptance into a Registered Apprenticeship program, credit for prior learning for completing the TRACK pathway will be determined by provider. The Tech Ready Apprentices for Careers in Kentucky (TRACK) youth pre-apprenticeship program is a partnership between the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Career and Technical Education and the Kentucky Labor Cabinet to provide secondary students with career pathway opportunities into registered apprenticeship programs.
