Students Visit State Capitol

On Monday, May 13, 2019, 5th grade social studies teacher Chris Marcum accompanied a group of students to Frankfort, Kentucky for a tour of the State Capitol.  The tour began in the rotunda, where students saw statues of Abraham Lincoln, Henry Clay, Jefferson Davis, Ephraim McDowell, and Alben Barkley.  Students also viewed the Kentucky First Ladies miniatures display, Supreme Court Room, State Reception Room, House of Representatives chamber, and other exhibits.  The tour concluded in the Senate chamber, where State Senator Max Wise met with the students and answered questions.  Everyone enjoyed the day at the State Capitol!
