CCHS Students Attend KUNA

Posted On: Wednesday, March 11, 2020

The Clinton County High School delegation represented France at the Kentucky United Nations Assembly at the Galt House in Louisville on March 8-10, 2020. The Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA) is a 3-day experiential learning conference in which students participate directly in simulated international diplomacy. KUNA offers students the opportunity to experience the richness of cultures from around the world, develop empathy, and hone their critical thinking skills while engaging with a wide variety of perspectives and global issues. Each delegation selects a country to represent at the assembly. The students then represent aspects of their country's culture and traditions with a World Expo Center, country signs & flags during the Parade of Nations, with Cultural Attire from their nation, and cultural performances on the International Stage. The CCHS delegation created a World Expo Center for France and sponsored a resolution – an Act on Air Pollution and the Effect on Humans. The resolution was presented by Delaney Chilton, Brianna Hurst, Camrick Wright, & Gracey Neal. Jaden Mullins represented France on the Security Council.  The CCHS delegation was awarded Outstanding Country Representation, which is one of the most coveted awards at the Kentucky United Nations Assembly.  Outstanding Country Representation is awarded to the country that best represents their culture through their Resolution, World Expo Center, Cultural Attire, Country Sign, and participation in debate.  CCHS KUNA is sponsored by Mrs. Pam Lovell & Mrs. Gina Poore.  Congratulations to the CCHS KUNA delegation & their sponsors!
