After reading The Three Little Pigs and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, students in Ms. Samantha's and Ms. Mindie's 3rd grade classes at AES participated in a STEM activity. This activity allowed them to recreate their own house using materials such as Legos for bricks, hay or spaghetti for straw, and limbs or graham crackers for wood. Each group created a sketch and then a model to test their design. Using a hair dryer as the Big Bad Wolf, students were able to see if their creation could withstand the huffing and puffing of the Big Bad Blow Dryer. Students were very creative and had lots of fun working together as a team to create their house.
